Using poweryams navTrail plugin - snipping out "category" help

Has anyone been using the poweryams navtrail? I think it is very fine (thanks there) but I am not a php person and don’t know how to exclude the word “category” from the trail without smashing it. In addition when I use a catgegory archive it ignores the numerical values of the year and month

Can anyone help me with this please? (I haev tried contacting poweryams but the email smtp is broken apparently)

I’m going to move this one over to ‘plugins’.  I haven’t actually downloaded the plugin, so can’t offer much advice.  Generally the author’s the best one to help- but in plugins someone who uses it may be likely to spot the thread.
