How do you handle the seminar calendar? Are the entries based on the start and end-dates from an entry? Or do you use custom fields? If you do use custom fields, how do you handle the calculation of the dates?
The entries in the seminar calendar are based on the start and end dates for an entry yes, after much playing with alternative approaches this seemed the most logical solution since it gives the client the flexibility to have seminars spanning more than one day if required, and they can specify when registration cuts off.
We also used more than one ‘section’ in EE to handle seminars and established a relationship between the two. There’s a section called ‘Seminar details’ which contains the general seminar data, agenda etc, and then there’s ‘Seminar dates’ which allows the client to specify a date, pick the seminar subject and specify a location and other variables.
This reduced the need for the client to continually copy and paste to create new seminar dates.
