I wish to use the SAEF to allow members to submit entries, though I noticed that the title field isn’t validated, meaning the user can enter arbitrary HTML tags and they seem to get submtted. Setting the weblog in question to only allow safe HTML or non at all doesn’t help. Is there a way to validate the title field like the rest of the fields?

The title is handled in a slightly different way.  If you just want to strip the title in the saef I figured the quickest/easiest way was via an extension- can download a quick example here- just open it up, stick it in extensions, and enable- should strip all formating from the title tag- assuming that’s what you want.  It’s very, very simple, so should be easy to mod to fit your needs.  Seemed to work fine in a very quick test.

Thanks, that seemed to have done the trick! Perhaps this plugin should be added to EE by default? I can see the stand only entry form being abused if it’s public and doesn’t parse the title field for tags.
