Hi

I have backed up a EE1 site from an old host and restored it mostly successfully on a new server.

I am having an issue with the site showing anything using the imgsizer.

I have a slide show and gallery that uses this but have not been able to get it working so that we can complete the server move. It appear my host has all the php components.

Could it be imgsizer is not registerd properly, even though I am seeing it in the control panel? Of maybe the test URL needs to be set somewhere?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Can you turn on template debugging and see if that generate any Imgsizer errors - often there can be path issues.

Also have you got an /images/sized folder with approprate permissions for the resized images?

Hi Thanks for the quick response (EE version 1.6.8)

I turned on debugging in - Output and Debugging Preferences - but are not seeing any differences on the site.
Debug Preference :
2: PHP/SQL error messages shown to anyone - NOT SECURE

I have given full read write permission to the /images/sized folder (permission 777)

Thanks

Hello hi1ton,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this server move snag.

Can you confirm that you have the GD or GD2 libraries compiled with PHP? Image resizing is often broken when the library is missing and since you changed servers, this is very possible.

If your hosting provider says that PHP GD support is good to go, then I would check with the developer of imgzizer. It looks like the plugin is hosted with Devot:ee now, so you may have to use the forum there to ask for help with the plugin.

I hope this helps. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

Cheers,

Hi Shane

Thanks, for the reply

I know my host has this installed and I see it in the CP
CP Home ›  Admin ›  System Preferences ›  Image Resizing Preferences >> GD and GD2 (selected) appear in the dropdown

How do I make sure the libraries are compiled?

Here is what I have on the server
http://www.touringisrael.com.php5-16.dfw1-2.websitetestlink.com/phpinfo.php

I changed
{exp:imgsizer:size src=”{home-page-upload}” width=“494” height=“271” alt=”{title}” base_cache=”/mnt/stor2-wc2-dfw1/434120/536007/www.touringisrael.com/web/content/images/uploads/”}
TO
{Devot:ee:size src=”{home-page-upload}” width=“494” height=“271” alt=”{title}” base_cache=”/mnt/stor2-wc2-dfw1/434120/536007/www.touringisrael.com/web/content/images/uploads/”}

But still not working any idea what is wrong? I am a newbie with EE and php - if there is an article converting to this I should be able to follow

Thanks!

Is there an index of EE professionals or someone that you recommend that can assist me with this task on an hourly rate basis?

hi1ton,

The issue may be that image sizer is not compatible with your servers version of PHP. Image Sizer is also a rather dated plugin at this time that hasn’t been supported by the developer in a long time. If it is at all feasible for you to upgrade to 2.x then I would recommend using the excellent CE Image which will replace all that functionality, but it is only compatible with EE 2.x

We do have a complete list of EE developers on our Pro Network.
