Getting new license for my Expression Engine site

The developers who initially developed my site bought the license for the Expression Engine. Since then every time I need to upgrade the version I have to get them to download the new files. So, I eventually thought about getting the new license to avoid it but I can’t find the upgrade files. My current version is 2.2.2.

Help!!

Hi Roswell.

I presume you have full FTP + database access to your website? If so you can read up on the upgrade process here:- http://expressionengine.com/user_guide/installation/update.html

The upgrade files are the same files as the main download. So just download the latest (2.4) from your download area and then follow the instructions in the link above.

It’s not as nice as other CMS upgrade systems in my opinion so if you’re a little hesitant it may be wise to just ask your developers to do it.

I hope that makes sense.

Hi roswell,

There is no need to purchase a new license. You can have your developer contact us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and they can ask that the license be transferred to your account. That will allow you to access ExpressionEngine updates on your own.

Cheers!
