One more agree post about some useless modules, even if i’m still waiting to find some spare time to play around the wiki.

- The wiki for real community driven sites, intranets, education, and more is more than usefull. My concern about is the customisation (such a pain by comparison with the channel templates).

- The light mailing some of my clients are happy with it (used for quick internal emailing by groups)

But there is still some other witch could vanish without missing.
I’ll prefer a new feature as “saving snippets as file” instead or some old useless modules.

There’s a lot to discuss ...

But of course this isn’t a thread about what features to add…;)

Get the missing EE2 owner’s manual - a complete guide to building an EE2 site.  It’s available in PDF or print.

The best thing to do it would be a good classic “survey” on :

What are the more useless feature actually part of the EE package ?

It could be helpful and informative to know about, and see from that.

What a great suggestion! I too agree. I think the modules should just be 1st party addons available if you have a license. So, if you happen to be in a minority in terms of using them, they will still be available to use.

I agree with the original post. Sometimes less is better.

I believe the Referrer module will get used more come May - at least in EE installs for UK companies.

The Information Commissioner’s Office will start enforcing the UK’s interpretation of the EU’s cookie law. Google Analytics cookies are specifically named in the ICO’s guidance as requiring user consent before they are set on the users device. The accepted solution appears to be a popup box asking permission to set them.

Providing the Referrer module doesn’t use cookies itself it could prove useful as an alternative to Analytics. By all means spin it out as a 1st party add-on but don’t EOL it just yet.

I totally agree, these features should be removed, they are useless to me and many others.
