It has taken me a while but here it is. Dutchcelt.nl running on Expression Engine. Well almost. Except for search results.

I had a major pain in getting URI’s to work the way I wanted but now I’ve got multiple index file’s in the same directory. The path.php has been inbedded into each file and has them behave as if they were unique directories. Also I needed to do some fancy redirecting to hide the index file in certain circumstances.

I’ve been using pMachine Pro previously and I have many entries indexed by Google that I wished to keep. Alas I only could get the re-mapping feature in EE 1.2.1 to work for comments. With a mod_rewrite in the root .htaccess file I’ve been able to get the permanent links to work as well.

The links page uses magpie that will not cache properly and throws an error. The links take way to long to load. Another solutions will be needed, but for now it works.

The weblog page now contains a XMLHttpRequest feature in the calendar. When jumping from month to month the page no longer reloads. Via XMLHttpRequest a new calendar is inserted to display the appropriate month. I’ll post a tutorial on this soon.

Despite the standing issues as mentioned above I am very happy with EE. I’ve stated before that pMachine was one of the best low cost weblog engines. Expression Engine is miles ahead. Well worth the extra cost. Well done guys!
