But today when flicking through pages in the control panel i glimpsed a robot sliding across the screen holding onto the menu bar at the top of the page. At this point i had already clicked on another page so it disappeared quick.

It was 100% the robot from the the CP themes images - killer_robot
Can I ask what triggers this? And how frequently it will appear? Has anyone else seen it? or just me?

Also on a more miserable note. I have one client who is a royal pain in the ar$e and would not like this, probably think it was a virus. Can i disable it for him?
Me I like easter eggs, so I approve. Professional clients, sometimes less so!

Were you smoking anything at the time may i ask?

Am curious now, can see me finding excuses to play!

I see you’ve met my friend. yup, Mr. Robot is an easter egg(1). It doesn’t mean anything at all about the system, I can assure you EE is running as expected, and nothing has changed.

The backstory is that I was working on EE2, and needed to experiment with visual effects for the edit page. I used that robot, thought it was fun, and he’s simply never come out. As you can tell from my personal website(2) I have an unhealthy fascination with “killer-robots”. The easter egg has a 1 in 5000 chance of running across that screen (only the edit page) on a refresh, and even then, it will only do this for users in the admin group. Starting with the next EE build, it can be disabled by adding into the config/config.php file

If you want an immediate patch, feel free to email me directly. Sorry if my over-active imagination caused you any concern. Thanks for your understanding.

This was just posted over at EE-Insider and i got a reminder about it!
My concern was about one more than awkward customer - but the chances of them being in those areas often enough was rare!!! Like the config option though - keeps it funner!

I was more hoping is was a competition - he who sees it first wins 100 EE mugs, lol.
