I dont understand for the life of me why EE 2.0 does not include the ability to add multiple files. This is my biggest gripe with the software. Is there a way that I can get this functionality through a work around or an add on of some sort. They came sooo close to a great upload system but it still fails in my book unfortunately.

Hi - I’d like to second this feature request. Even if the multiple file upload functionality was limited to the File Manager section rather than tied in to custom fields etc.

You might need to be a little more specific. Do you mean add multiple files as a fieldtype, or upload multiple files at once, or both? The second two options will require Flash.

Hi HD

Clarification:

Allow simultaneous uploading of multiple files within the File Manager section.

(Would using flash for this necessarily be a bad thing? If it was provided as an ‘advanced’ uploader option rather than replacing the current one that wouldn’t limit accessiblity/usage.)

Seconded.  AJAX could do this too.

Is there a plugin or any way to do this?  I saw something called Channel Files listed on Devot-ee (http://www.devdemon.com/store/detail/channel_files/) but it look like it is 1.6 compatible not 2.0.  Is there anything available for 2.0?  I realize I could make another channel and make related entries, but that seems cumbersome.

Thanks!

I haven’t found anything that will do multi file uploads on EE2.  MoxieCode FileManager along with Leevi Graham’s FileManager extension work great for 1.6.
