Client or Firm - Who Buys the License?

I have a web development firm, but I have been personally hired by a client to complete an EE project. Who should buy the license?  Since one gets a discount for every X number of licenses purchased, I would like to have the purchase accrued to my firm.  However, once the project is completed the client that hired me is going to want full control of their website, the ability to upgrade to 2.0 later, etc.

My client is not going to buy more EE licenses to qualify for the discount and don’t care how it is purchased.  I am going to pay for the license with the client’s credit card and not my firm’s card.  How does this senario work within the volume licensing?

It’s quite normal for developers to buy the licence and charge the client according for software and setup. When you hand the site over you can either look after the licence yourself or transfer it to the client. Whatever works best for you and your client smile

Is this true? What are the details regarding this?

Great. And I assume this can be applied over time? I’ve purchased 2 so far, so I should expect 10% off on my next license purchase?

Thanks!

Yes, these milestones are cumulative and applied automatically to future purchases.

So does the volume discount come into play if I buy the discounted EE along with a new hosting plan from Engine Hosting?

No, these discounts do not stack. It’s one or the other.
