Can members manipulate custom settings for their account outside of the EE Control Panel?

I know that EE allows Membership and member profiles. My question is, what are the capabilities of Members to be able to modify their account in a very specific way?

For example. I’m building a start page for members, on the start page there is a list of favorite websites. Can members login and modify this list of favorite websites to a list that is completely unique to them? I would want them logged in and making these edits *outside* of the ExpressionEngine control panel interface. This would all be done from a custom interface on the website.

I’m not sure if this is the sort of thing that EE was created to handle or not. If this *is* possible, is there some documentation somewhere that I can look at to see how that would be set up?

Thanks

Hi, Dave,

You can do this but you would use a weblog that they can post to, with each entry as a “favorite site”.  Then you would display those using username=“CURRENT_USER” as a weblog entries tag parameter.  You can handle this via a Stand Alone Entry From.

So yes, this is possible.
