Yesterday I had to move an EE site under development onto another server running not Apache but IIS. I managed to do so by backing up via EE and restoring via myphpadmin and all seemed to be working, but today I can’t log into the site.

What happens is that when I enter the correct username and password I get the login screen again but without an error message such as “The username you submitted was not found in the database.” or “The password you submitted was not correct.”

Just guessing…

That sounds like a cookie problem. Probably the cookie domain. Since you can’t get into the CP to set it, you’ll probably have to edit your config.php.

Sounds like you’ve done this before. Can you elaborate?

Consult the Knowledge Forum for the 7 easy steps for changing a host as per LJ.  In CP>Admin>Security try changing admin and users to session only.  Alway double check config permssions and make sure that is is write enabled.
