An error on comment template

I’m using the default template number seven on an EE install. So far everything is working out except on the rendered comment template where the layout breaks and I get the following error:

Warning: imagettftext(): Problem loading glyph in /home/brookie/public_html/dev/cast/core/core.functions.php on line 1372

Can someone tell me what’s going on?

Thanks.

erm, hrm. Well, I read that way too fast now didn’t I. However, you may still want to try those solutions and see what happens, then let us know. =)

Thanks, that did help. Now if I can just figure out how to import the comments from pmachine free to the EE installation.

I ran the import and the comments aren’t there.

I contacted the host and was told that true type fonts were installed, GD, and that the php installation was set to compile them. Still no luck.

By checking “normal” in the captcha’s it doesn’t break the site. However if I enable TT fonts it breaks and I get the error mentioned in the first post.

It’s curious because I have another site using EE hosted by the same people and there is no such problem. The only difference is that the other site uses 1.1 and the troublesome site is using 1.2.

Sounds like you are missing the font (or the permissions are wrong).  Make sure you have the “font” folder installed, and make sure it, and the font are readable.  Permissions of 755 are generally good.

The font folder is installed and the permissions are correct. Still no luck. It’s not that big of a deal it’s just that I’m so damn anal.

Regards.

Out of curiosity, how does this work? Does EE generate these upon installation?

Or whatever . . .

EE creates the actual CAPTCHA images at “runtime”—i.e. when the page is generated.

Are there ANY settings of which I should check in the cp that may be causing this problem?

First thing I’d say you need to do is actually confirm that the server does, in fact, support True Type Fonts with GD.

Looking in Admin > PHP Info on one of my installs, I see the following two things listed under the “Configure Command” toward the top:

—enable-gd-native-ttf
—with-ttf

Those are the only two things I can find offhand that seem to refer to True Type Font support, but I’m not guaranteeing that’s all there is.  So, I guess first off just make sure your server’s PHP was compiled with those two options.

From what I can gather the server does indeed support TT fonts with GD.

Where can I go from there?

Regards.
