I’m a newbie to Moblog, so I’m missunderstanding something…

I want to send images to my Gallery via email.

I’ve set up a a new Moblog in using the Moblog Module. I chose the gallery type. I’ve filled in the form including which gallery, category, etc. And, I’ve verified tha the email is retrieved.

However, I’m getting this error:

The path to your image library is not correct. Please set the correct path in your image preferences.

Huh? There is no place in the Moblog preferences to set a path to my image preferences. And, I’m using an existing, working gallery and category?

Any ideas what I’m doing wrong?

It seems I get a similar error when I try to send a moblog to my main “blog” site (instead of to the gallery).

“The path to your image library is not correct. Please set the correct path in your image preferences.” is the error I get.

Yet, I set the path by selecting an existing library from the pulldown menu in the moblog preferences.  What is different about this submission versus the gallery attempt is that the post does show up on my web site, image and all!

Back to the Gallery moblog problem.

Two images do show up in the image directory I have selected. Both are valid jpg images. The original image named “P1010006.jpg” is there, as is a second copy called “58fdhCX9ZXd0guhhp1010006.jpg”. Neither shows up in the Gallery however, and I continue to get the “path to image library” error.

For entries going into a gallery, the moblog module uses the image preferences set for that gallery in the Image Gallery’s control panel (under the Modules section).  For weblog entries, the moblog module uses the image resizing preferences found under Global Weblog Preferences in the Admin section of the CP.

There were some bugs found in the Moblog and Image Gallery modules right after the official 1.2 release.  Make sure you have update versions of the scripts as well.

Paul, I think you are onto something. It does appear to be the resizing that is causing the errors when I post to the main block (let’s leave the Gallery alone till I get the main blog posting working). The post shows up, but the image is not resized according to the preferences I’ve set for that moblog.

I have downloaded the latest EE and updated the files per instructions in a different thread.

I CAN successfully resize images if I publish/upload a file from the CP.

Hm, it works in the Publish area but not in the Moblog, that is odd since I could have sworn it was using the same routine.  Are you using Imagemagick?

Yes, ImageMagick.

FWIW, I can go into the Gallery and resize images just fine from there, manually.

Send me an email please.  It might be possible that the Imagemagick bug is not fixed in the Moblog files currently.

Paul, thanks for the off-line help. All works as expected now. I can use the email capability in iPhoto to send messages to my image gallery—even controlling the title and category. Sort of a cheap-and-dirty integration!

Paul,
I’m having the same problem.  Uploading images to my moblog - which only posts on index.php of my weblog and resizes as part of the publishing -  spits out the same image path/resizing error. I re-uploaded cp.publish.php per some other thread and I’m still getting the resizing error. Care to share your fix?

Send me an email and I can send you the current version of the Moblog files.  EE 1.2.1 will be released in the next couple days, so if you want you could wait for that new version, which will include these files along with many other updates.

Thanks Paul.  I’ll wait for the upgrade.  Its not like I’m going to be home much in the next few days any ways.
