I am looking for htaccess help, someone to pay but it’s non EE related.  I have read through lots of material but I cannot be an expert at everything so I need some outside help, not sure where the best place to go and ask is, elance and others like it are not really helpful when trying to find an htaccess person.

The very best place for .htaccess questions that I know of is the Apache forum at Webmasterworld. If you can define the problem and give an example of the code that you’ve tried (they won’t write it for you), you will almost certainly get a solution. You do have to register to post, but that is free. You might also check out the library for that forum.

When you post your code, change any domain names to example.com as they don’t allow any site promotion.

Thanks mayest!  That is a good place and again they want you to become a mini expert, I really need someone reasonable to code it for me.  The option of doing it myself saves me money but also takes me away from my wife and kids.  It takes me away from the important things in life, just to learn a new trick I will probably never need again.

Can you give a hint about what you are trying to do? Also, maybe your web host will be able to help? I once contacted EH about a problem with Office 2007 files not downloading properly and they sent me the .htaccess code to make it work.
