I’m producing an exercise video and I’d appreciate some experienced feedback regarding wardrobe color/contrast combinations. My test shots haven’t worked well because I haven’t been able to get the proper contrast/brightness within the talent’s wardrobe itself and in combination with the backdrop screen.

Are there any rules of thumb for getting this right, in order to maximize clarity in the talent’s movements?

P.S. I’m still shooting in SD.

Thanks.

I’d probably run to the library and check out a bunch of existing videos and see what looks best…

Proof that stating the obvious is always a good idea .. since it’s not always obvious. I’ll do that.

Thanks.

If I can add in my two penneth worth here then I think key to all of this is probably going to be your lighting setup. Too much light and it doesn’t matter what colours you use, they are going to be totally washed out. Too little lighting and you’ll need an infra-red camera wink

Get it just right though and the colour shouldn’t matter all that much as long as you aren’t using pink on a yellow background of course wink

Best wishes,

Mark

Ah, yes, lighting ... the Way of the Wizard. I have a 3 piece Amvona light kit. Good light ... but lot’s of it. Still working out the proportions. Mark, do you have a lighting set up that you recommend?

Thanks.

Hiya,

Mark, do you have a lighting set up that you recommend?

Thanks.

Sorry for not getting back sooner on this one but I got unsubscribed to the thread for some reason.

Sorry but I don’t really know that much about lighting techniques, it was more a statement of what I knew you would want to be doing wink

Sorry about the slight misunderstanding there.

Best wishes,

Mark

When choosing your wardrobe I guess it comes down to what your target group is. Like Boyink! suggested see what colors and clothes the succesful ones are using for that target group.

What kind of ‘exercises’ are you filming in a wardrobe for goodness sake? The mind boggles.
