time stamp problem

Hi—I have no idea what’s causing this, but I just noticed today that many of the time stamps on my site are off by an hour.  If I create an entry with the publish time “4.24 pm,” it publishes on the site as “3.24 pm.” I’ve checked both the admin localization setting and my user localization settings, and both are set to the proper time zone, with daylight saving time on.  Everything posted before August 12 has a time in the control panel that corresponds to the time as published; from August 12 on, everything is off by an hour.  That’s right about when I upgraded to 1.1.  I’m not sure if that’s the contributing factor, though, as the last entry with a proper time stamp falls on the top of page 2 of my site; it’s only the entries on the main page that are off.

Has anybody else had an issue with this?  I’ve asked my hosting provider to check the system clock, but I thought I’d check with you guys…

First off, be aware that if you change the localization settings (for either the server or your user) it will not affect any existing entries.  It will only take effect when you create a new entry.  So make sure you’re not expecting those existing entries to be affected.

When you go to the “Publish” screen in the CP is the time displayed correctly for you?

If so, when you go to your actual site to view the entry, are you sure that you’re logged in?  (EE can only apply your user localization information if you’re logged in.)

Yes, the CP time is correct when I go to the publish screen.  And yes, I’m logged in when I look at the site, but the times are still off by an hour.

To complicate matters:  the time stamps are only off on the index page.  Entries on permalink pages or comment pages are correctly stamped.

(And I’ve heard from my hosting provider, who says that the system clock is correctly set.)

Thanks for your help; I really appreciate it!  --K.

In fact, to further complicate (or perhaps clarify):  the problem is only on the FIRST index page, so it’s not a template problem.  When I posted the original query last night, the last entry at the bottom of the page indicated that it had been posted at 8:08 pm.  I posted a new entry today, and so that last entry rolled over to page 2, where its time is now correctly stamped 9:08 pm.
