Are you using subdomains/subsites?  If so, you need to ensure that you have the correct things specified in your path.php as indicated.

Also, do you have those three things specified for your site under Admin > General Configuration (first two) and Admin > Template Preferences (last)?

In the EE Control Panel, go to the two sections I mentioned.  In the first one are preferences related to the “site_url” and “site_index”.  In the second is a preference related to the “site_404” setting.

Make sure that you 1) have these settings specified and 2) can make changes/updates to these settings.

When you ran the ExpressionEngine installation, you were given the URL to your Control Panel at the end.  Typically, it’s something like this:

http://www.example.com/system/index.php

If you renamed the “system” directory or installed EE into a subdirectory then you’ll need to adjust that.

Have you checked the settings as I mentioned above?  Or are you saying you can’t log in to the Control Panel?

Okay, I think I see the issue here.  You’re using a domain redirection service on your site.  Your site gets “masked” inside a frame and the content is served from somewhere different than the URL shows.

That sort of thing can cause problems, especially with things like cookies and form submissions.

You should make sure that all your paths/URLs in your EE preferences reflect the actual server/URL from which your site is served.  Also, make sure the “Cookie Domain” under Admin > Cookie Preferences is set for that “real” server.
