I attempted upgrade from 1 to 1.1
Uploaded all files, ran update.php and found these error messages although upgrade message indicated that it was successful:
Here are error messages:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in D:\sambar52\docs\exp\system\config.php on line 97

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in D:\sambar52\docs\exp\system\update.php on line 481

Warning: reset() [function.reset]: Passed variable is not an array or object in D:\sambar52\docs\exp\system\update.php on line 516

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in D:\sambar52\docs\exp\system\update.php on line 525

Now site and cp indicates system not installed.  Uploaded all files again and tried update but failed.
Site totally wacked.

Do have backup of all system files and config, week old DB backup available ( I hope)
Help!

Do you have your old config.php file that you backed up as indicated in the update instructions?  If so, upload it, replacing the existing config.php file.  That should bring your site back up.  You don’t need to replace anything else, although you’ll need to add some new items to your old config file, which I’ll post shortly.  Not sure what caused the error.  Lots of people have been updating.

The following items need to be added to your old config.php file to bring them up to date:

$conf['calendar_thumb_path'] = "/path/to/images/cp_images/calendar.gif";
$conf['cp_image_path'] = "/path/to/images/cp_images/";
$conf['captcha_require_members'] = "y";
$conf['require_ip_for_posting'] = "y";
$conf['new_posts_clear_caches'] = "y";
$conf['tmpl_display_mode'] = "auto";
$conf['default_site_timezone'] = "";
$conf['default_site_dst'] = "n";
$conf['enable_js_calendar'] = "y";
$conf['save_tmpl_files'] = "n";
$conf['tmpl_file_basepath'] = "";
$conf['redirect_submitted_links'] = "n";
$conf['site_404'] = "";
$conf['weblog_nomenclature'] = "weblog";

NOTES:

- You’ll notice two items with /path/to/  in them.  You’ll need up update this to reflect your particular site.

- Find this item at the very top of your config file:

$conf[‘app_version’] = “100”;

And replace it with this:

$conf[‘app_version’] = “110”;

Things should be OK after that.

I’m back in.  Will await the new info.

this is line 97 that caused one error:
$conf[‘image_library_path’] = “C:/\“Program Files\”/ImageMagick-6.0.0-Q16/”;

New config file additions produce same result.

I’m not sure what you mean by “same result”.  Are you trying to run the update script again?  You shouldn’t have to do that.  Sorry, please be more specific.

Hello!!!  I didn’t realize that it had already been updated!  But, when I added the new config file additons that you suggested they caused   the shutdown again.  My old config one works, at least it appears to unless there are some new features that I haven’t noticed that are effected.

So, do I need the additions?

thanks for your prompted help.
That is one of the things I love about you guys!

Based on your original error message I was able to determine that the problem happened after the update was successfully completed - other than the config file stuff.

Yes, you do need the new config items.  Are you sure you added them within the PHP tags?  In other words, did you add them above the closing PHP tag?

?>

If you did and it still caused a problem, it’s probably due to the fact that you are copying/pasting from this web page.  Some browsers can introduce invisible characters when you copy from a web page, making PHP scripts grumpy.  I’ll email you the new items in a text file.

Whoops!  I made a syntax mistake in the above config file items.  Sorry, my apologies.

OK, I just updated the above post.  It should be correct now.  Try adding the items again.
