A couple of things regarding the trial version of Expression Engine:

1) When I try to access the url http://www.barrysteinman.com/index.php/search/ I get an error message saying the page cannot be found. Can you tell me why?

2) The sysreqs say we need mysql 4.1, but we have mysql 4.0, what problems will that cause?

1. Look at this entry in the Knowledge-Blog.

2. It would mean that your version of MySQL wouldn’t support some of the SQL calls/functions/etc. that are required for EE to work.

However, EE does not require MySQL 4.1+.  It requires PHP 4.1+ and MySQL 3.23.32 or newer.

None.  As I said (and as the requirements state), MySQL only requires 3.23.32 or newer.  If you have MySQL 4+ then you’re fine.  However, PHP (not MySQL) requires version 4.1 or newer.
