I’m not really sure of where to post this.  But am I the only one who finds it frustrating that the only way to escape the docs part of the website www.expressionengine.com/docs is to use the browsers back button, or to type in a new URL.  Can we have the same “<< Return to ExpressionEngine | User Guide | Knowledge Base ...” navigation bar at the top of the docs section?

[Mod Edit: Moved to the Feature Requests forum]

There is a link in the footer wink

Agreed would be nice to have the same navigation on those pages too though.

Thanks for that Derek.

Best wishes,

This was actually our intent from the beginning, as the navigation above indicates, we consider the user guide as part of our support network.  It wasn’t implemented back when we did our rebranding a year and half ago though because we use the same files in the downloadable version so that we only maintain one set of files.  Obviously, including our site’s navigation in those files would be inappropriate.

However, now that we have commentable docs on our site thanks to a plugin that processes the files, it gave me an opportunity to do a little massaging of the HTML that’s output for our hosted version, and finally allow for what was intended without adversely affecting the user guide available to download or requiring us to maintain two sets of files.

Now that was all just way too complicated wink

Totally hear what you are saying and fantastic that you have massaged it into shape now. Was it fun? grin

Thanks again for the fantastic support.

Best wishes,

Mark
