I developed this on the side while I was developing GaryPlayer.com at work, talk about burning the candle at both ends… I look back at this site and wish I had done a few things differently, it’s just crazy how many different ways you can do things with EE. A few things I would have done differently: less conditionals and more modular templates, more use of categories, use of imgsizer, more related entry implementation, and the list goes on. We also built a custom directory on the backend that is extremely robust, but I’m disappointed we used so much PHP to make it happen as opposed to more EE framework stuff. And just so you know, we couldn’t use the membership tools because of how church members are structured, it had to be families, imported from an existing database. I won’t go into all the details, but there are definitely some things I would have done differently.
