If I had to guess, I’d say “Clone Entries” might be conflicting but I’m not sure… however, you can help me.  Disable your other extensions and see if PublishImprove is changing te Preview / Quick Save buttons. If it is, enable the other extensions one by one.  Once you find the offender, let me know and I’ll see if I can find a way to make the two of them co-operate for you.

After a month, I’ve finally found the time to troubleshoot this. I have disabled all extensions except PublishImprove and it is still not hiding my Preview and Quick Save Buttons.

I also entered text into the associated fields to see if it was just a problem with hiding, but it’s not. It doesn’t change them at all.

Any more suggestions?

I too am experiencing the same. Working on 1.6.1 Build:  20071114 with all other extensions disabled.

Wondering if anyone has come up with a solution to Publish Improve not working in 1.6.1?

I just stumbled across this extension and want to say Thank You!  Excellent.  I installed it and it is working perfectly in 1.6.1 build 20071204.

Feature request: How about, if you have the pages module installed, you get an option to add a ‘pages’ tab (that way you don’t have to manually add it for a bunch of users yourself).  Bonus points if it is the first tab on the left

Bug: the documentation link works, but references pmachine.com, not expressionengine.com.

HELP!!!! I just did some settings. saved it. and it worked perfect. then i went back and selected the setting that was something about simplifying the date. saved that….and now my control panel is blank!!!! just a white page. i tried logging in with another browser…same thing. i can get to the login window, but once i login….nothing.

what can i do???

I managed to get the extension uninstalled. I did some tests, and it appears that selecting yes on the “Publish: Simplify all user date fields by removing non-essential buttons and links.” option causes the blank screen on 1.6.2. Attached is an image with all the options I had set that caused it to go blank. Changing the date field option to no…everything works fine.

Good to know!  I will be releasing a new version when I get time, one that uses JQuery and hopefully doesn’t cause the same problem.

do the same settings cause your install to go blank like mine? I don’t know if I have a freak issue or a common one.

Any updates on this as I really want to get rid of the Quick Save button!

I rarely use the ‘Update’ button to publish my entries, only the ‘Quick Save’ button (that way I don’t have to back up a page to get to where I was, as another person mentioned). Am I missing something here? All my posts seem to be publishing fine as far as I can tell.

Another useful update would be to enable different configurations for different user groups, e.g. remove the modules and my account tabs for people who aren’t super admins.

You can already do that with the standard control panel.
