I created a new weblog and copied the templates from an existing group.  I notice that the templates that are generated do not update the variable declaration for “my_template_group” at the top of the templates… The name remains as the original group that was copied from.
Also in the Edit Weblog-> path settings : the groupname does not get updated.  It is still the original group name.

Thanks for the report precision,

Currently the duplication function is not designed to work as per your description (it’s pretty much a copy/paste job). However your idea is an excellent one, and would make a great feature request.  We’re always looking for ways to make EE better, and this sounds like a good one.

Seems that it’s part way there already… the weblog variable does get set to the weblog name…. it’s just the group information that doesn’t come across….

The group information is just copied, and would match whatever you duplicated from. So the new weblog would have the same group information as the one duplicated. This would make a good feature request though.

The documents have been updated to reflect exactly what goes on during the duplication process. You can find the information here.
