I need a handful of testers for a new LDAP authentication extension I have in development.

Currently, it is working for both AD and eDirectory configurations, although I have not integrated it with the member_member_login_start functionality.

If you are interested in testing the module out and providing feedback, let me know. It is not production ready yet, so it should not be implemented as a deployed website’s authentication scheme.

Mostly, university-related is the response I assume I will get, although I would like it to work in other situations. It is not, however, a profile management tool, nor is it meant to extend all the wonderful features of LDAP into EE. It is strictly for authentication.

Additionally, it will be released as free software and I take no responsibility or liability for the performance or security issues it may introduce.

You use at your own risk, and by requesting and installing the extension, you are acknowledging that you understand and agree to that stipulation.

Leave a message or send me a PM if you are interested.

Thanks!
Jared

Alright, you will need an LDAP server to test it out. smile

Hi Jared,

I’d like to try your auth mod out.  We have a LAN here running eDir and I’d love to be able to have my user auth external from the EE installation.

I actually have a small app to deploy in the next couple of weeks which will get pretty heavy use by several hundred users across the intranet.  This is a low-risk app, so I can “play” by using beta code for the auth steps.  It’ll be fun.

All your stipulated non-liability remarks are understood and accepted.

I’ve got a school district with close to 4,000 members and they would give you rock-star status if this works for them. If you can handle thousands of screaming fans, lets see what you’ve got!

Anybody had a chance to play with this yet.  I have it but just haven’t had the time to dig in?
Maybe if there were a couple of us testing this we could collaborate?

Regards,

jim
