Hi,

I just actually installed and went through the walk through for ee today but now I am at a loss.  I need to add my stylesheets and corresponding design images for use in my templates.  Which folder should I be saving these files in?  Ive searched the forums but have not managed to find any similar posts.  If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great, thanks.

Hey suntzz - welcome,

You can put your stylesheets in a template and link to them with the stylesheet tag.  That will also add a unique identifier to allow for better cachability (id changes when you update the file).  Alternatively you could put them in an external file.  EE does not dictate a specific location for anything, it’s left up to the developer.

A subfolder in the existing images folder might be a good spot for your images.  Creating a new folder (something like assets) would work as well.  Whatever you feel most comfortable with.

Hi inparo,

Thank you for your reply.  If I set up my folder structure as you recomend, will I be required to use a full server path when requesting images, or is there some way around this?  Thank you.

Just use a regular img tag like you would in any HTML. For example,

< img src=”/images/my_images/my_image.png” >

You can supply the size and other info as well. It is straight HTML. If that doesn’t work, then something else is wrong.

I like to keep my images in my own folder rather than adding to the EE folders. It just seems better that way to me.
