I am building a site where the Categories will run horizontally across the top of the page and sub categories for a Category will run vertically along the right hand side.

Can anyone tell me or point me the sections where I can find information on how to achieve this?

You could use parent_only=“yes” with the Weblog Categories tag to display only the main categories at the top of the page, and maybe the Subcategories plugin for the list on the side.

Are you thinking of using categories for the main nav on the site?

If that’s the case I’d suggest looking at using separate weblogs instead, and then categories for the sub-nav.  I’ve found trying to use all categories for all the navigation ends up being ultimately more work.
