Hi all,

A team of us over in Japan put some time together and launched a community site for EE users in Japanese.  You can check it out here - ee日本.

Still a few sections to add (userguide, wiki, etc.), but it’s our start to helping build the local EE user-base.

* just to be clear, site has no affiliation with EllisLabs, etc.

Just wanted to add to what Matt (eejp) said above - Movable Type is by far the most popular CMS in Japan right now and we think EE is a much better product. So one of the things the site can hopefully do is help developers and clients understand why it’s better and (with the JA language packs) realise it’s as easy for them to implement as Expression Engine.

The logo we’ve created uses the Japanese word for ‘good’ - いい combined with the two ‘e’s for Expression Engine.

Nice thinking on repurposing the logo. Looks like a great site, wish I could read Japanese. Matt’s been very good about keeping us up to date on his thoughts on Japan and though its not “officially” endorsed by EllisLab we’re sure glad you guys are spreading the news over there.

If you would like a few licenses to use as a give-a-way or promotion . Also, I’d be happy to do an interview with the team about the site and feature it on the EE home page.

Very cool!

MovableType definitely got into Japan very early, but I’d agree that EE is a better publishing platform. smile

I like it man! A lineup of sites I’m working on actually share a VERY similar design. I quite like it.. Something about the Japanese text really sets it apart though.. There’s so much of a bigger cool factor associated with it! smile

Now, if only I can combine my two favorite things in the world.. Transformers + ExpressionEngine = Nerd Nirvana

Note to self: I am not a nerd. I swear.
