Hi guys. I’d like you to consider this feature request; I couldn’t find another one like it but feel free to lump it into an existing one if it is a dupe.

I develop several media sites, and they often have situations where two people are the author of a single piece of content: an article, or a blog post, etc.

I’d really like to be able to specify multiple authors per entry.

I know this is a pretty big departure from your blogging roots, and a pretty big change to the database structure as well, but I think it’s a feature that would really be appreciated by a wider group of people than just publishers, and it would unlock a lot of flexibility that right now is hard to chimp together.

I second that one. I’ve had this issue a few times in the past, and while you can get creative with custom fields, this should be supported OOTB.

I could really use this one too.  I run a college newspaper’s website, and every so often we have an article that is written by two or more people.  Right now I’m just saying the author is the newspaper’s staff in general, and putting the real authors in the body; but that doesn’t work with the “search by author” functionality of the search module.  I really wish there was a better way.

Yes this would be a great feature to add in. If it could be done as check-boxes then that would be nice. Never really been a fan of mult-select lists, somewhere someone will always deselect them all behind your back!!

I think this would bring in quite a few more possibilities depending on the way it got handled, that is if it did get added in to the system. Maybe we will see this sort of thing in EE 2.0 but only time will tell on that one.

Since it’s been a couple months since the last vote for this, thought I’d throw in my vote as well. I’m currently working on a site that could use this functionality.
