Hmm..tricky one.

If I remember rightly, Lavalamp sticks another <li> in at the end of your menu, which will of course be higher up the document stack. Are you targeting this extra <li> in your stylesheets? I think it’s already absolutely positioned, so stick a z-index on it if you haven’t already.

I’ve got a feeling that z-index won’t be much help here, there’s always problems when Flash is involved.

Are you sure you need SIFR? I’m not a huge fan of SIFR (this guy breaks it down very well - http://virtuelvis.com/archives/2005/04/i-hate-sifr) and unless your menu is going to change regularly I think it’s a case of overkill. If it’s not changing much, just do the old text-indent image replace thing on your links.

EDIT: typeface looks nice though..

Typeface is mighty nice.. I suppose I’ll have to just conclude that this will be a fail. I haven’t made any progresses on it, so I suppose using a text-indent image, is indeed, what will have to do. If you’re wondering, the font is Gotham Bold.

Thanks for the details. I just figured since Sifr is supported (or purported) to be by Google, that I would rather use that instead. Guess that’s not happening.. At least for the menu navigation anyway.

A link to the actual page might help since both Sifr and the jQuery Lava plugin inject some html into the DOM.

hey guys.. i just updated the opening post, as i’m using image as links now.. if anyone has the least bit of an idea what’s going on, please let me know.. i can’t get the links to open with a normal click, but right clicking works like a charm.

That did the trick. You have no idea how long I’ve spent trying to figure that out.. I have no idea how I missed that. Than again, I’m completely new at Javascript.. Boy am I glad I updated this thread. Thanks for the quick replies.. Seriously, you guys have shown me tons of resources and stuff I never had seen or known about.
