Is Google Analytics a bit overkill for a company website or is there a whole world I am missing out on?

I’ve used Mint and I love it’s simplicity but I’m ashamed to say I’ve never really used Google Analytics.

Give it a shot, it’s free smile I actually haven’t used Mint. I guess I’m cheap :(

I typically use both. Mint is in real time which can be useful in certain situations and Google Analytics is great for extended analysis and long-term data.

Ok cheers Leslie.

I think someone wrote up a nice article on how to use Google Analytics with ExpressionEngine. Time to do some reading!

I use both - one of the great things about GA is that you can set it up to send a report to your client each month automatically.

Google Analytics is not overkill for any website. I use GA for sites with 500 visitors a month and sites with hundreds of thousands of visitors. We automatically setup GA accounts on all sites we develop for clients so they can track hits.

One thing I especially like is goal tracking. In addition to e-commerce tracking, you can setup general goals like contact form submissions, information requests, etc. My clients love seeing how many requests they’re getting and can look at how that conversion rate increases when they do marketing campaigns.

It’s free and easy to setup, so why not use it?

I haven’t tried Mint, but it looks nice. I’m just happy with Analytics.
