Hi Derek, I noticed your illustration and thanks.  I just posted a printscreen document.

I want EE to be installed now so that when they hit my site then the EE site shows up.

I previously wanted it to be seperate whilst I worked on it and then move it over, but Im way past that now with frustration and wanting to know what small piece I am missing.

I will move everything from my “renamed” system folder or the renamed source folder?

Thanks

It think the piece that’s missing is that all of the EE files expect to be in the same place.  You can’t just move index.php without also moving all the other files (path.php, the system folder, theme folder etc).

It sounds like this was once a successful install.  Was this a successful install ever.  Try moving the files from public_html/annejackson/EE/eesource/ into public_html.  Be sure also that you have an index.php from EE in that folder (if you don’t, just redownload EE and grab that one file).  That should at least get us ot the stage where you have a site up and running.

Sheer genius as always Derek.  I changed all the paths to reflect the new one (went from bare text to all these nice colours and images) and have an index.php in public_html still.  Now the issue is the blank page when I render it.

I made the default site to be back to default expression engines one, but still get the re-direction notice and a blank page as I do with the new one I made

I image there is still somewhere I need to change a path as the pages are still point to the old location…..config.php and path.php?

Thanks Derek

Sorry this one stalled a bit, Anne.  I’m confused- what’s blank?

Yes thanks…I was hoping to develop in a subdirectory then move the completed site over.  Is this not something that people do?
Anyway thanks for your help.  I do have it up and running, now I need to move over all the development when I get some time!
Thanks for the help

Sure. EE certainly allows for that. Closing for now, if anything else comes up, kindly start a new thread, thanks.
