I used and liked x-cart at one time.  However, x-cart is the e-commerce platform of yesterday. It had a huge hole blown right through it with the release of the free and open source Magento. Magento sets a new standard for open source e-commerce. In fact, IMHO, nothing comes remotely close.

Yup. Magento 1.0 released at the end of March, I believe.  I’ve played around with it a bit and quite like it.  It’s better than any other e-commerce solution I’ve used so far (and I’ve used most of them tongue laugh).

Haven’t used it on any client sites, yet.  But I have one lined up later in the year where I plan to.

There might even be a Magento-EE tie in down the line considering that Magento’s site it EE-powered.  Plus I think one of the people involved with Magento posted in these forums that they would consider an EE module for Magento if there was enough interest.

Whoa! Magento site is powered by EE?  Sweet! I didn’t know that.

Also… I’m throwing in my vote for an EE and Magento tie-in.
