Last night, I woke up and discovered I had been sleeping on my arm and I literally couldn’t feel it. I had to pick it up with my other arm in order to move it - anyone else ever had this? I found it amazing how heavy my arm was!

That’s all I have.

Yep restricting the blood flow tends to do that!! wink

I thought this was going to be a question about how to get a random thought of the day in ExpressionEngine until I saw it located in the Lounge wink

Try this one then!

Stand with your arm flat against a wall and try to lift your arm outwards. Obviously you can’t because the wall is there but keep doing that for around 30 seconds. After the 30 seconds are up don’t try to lift your arm any more and just move away from the wall and see what happens!

Best wishes,

Mark

No, I have never met you let alone slept on your arm.

Sounds uncomfortable. Perchance, was this after one or two sherbets?

I went though a month where I lost feeling in my arm every night! It was very scary! Although I wasn’t sleeping on it, I used to fall asleep with my arm straight up in the air like I wanted to ask a question, then I would wake up and it would fall on top of me. Your right its heavy! Luckily I stopped doing it after a while and haven’t since.

Yep you really want to let some blood flow through there if you can wink

Imagine if we could do this with our heads. We really would be in a mess in the morning now wouldn’t we? wink

Yeah it wasn’t so funny at the time (My boyfriend definitely didn’t think so when I woke him up screaming ‘I can’t feel my arm HELP!’). But looking back I can see the funny side!

Frankly your boyfriend should be thankful your arm didn’t ‘clothesline’ him whilst he slept.

I had a dream the other night I was eating huge marsh mellows. When I woke up the pillows had disappeared!

Does that count?

P.S. I regularly sleep on my arms and have to shift them around when I wake. One at a time obviously, which makes me think, I wonder if anyone has ever slept on both?

It hasn’t happened to me in many many years. But the first time it happened I woke up in the middle of the night to find this cold, dead arm laying against me. I thought I was in a real life horror movie. I planned my escape. First I was going to throw that arm way the eff off of me. Anyway, it was a relief.  Albeit a creepy relief to find it was my own cold dead arm I was throwing off of me. smile

My right shoulder has been bothering me for weeks, so I try to avoid sleeping on that arm. Which is actually pretty easy because the position that makes it hurt is the one in which I used to be most likely to sleep on it.

Sometimes if I move my arm around a bit I hear/feel a bit of a pop and it feels a lot better. For a while. I wonder if I have a bone chip in the socket?
