Forum URL pointing to home page

I’m probably missing something obvious…

My local copy of EE and the Discussion Forum Module is performing perfectly. When I uploaded the site to a remote web server, the Forum URL seems to incorrectly point to the home page. Perhaps this is simply automatic redirect based upon an invalid address.

The site installation isn’t anything all that fancy, just a simple setup using a preinstalled EE with an uploaded Discussion Forum Module. I’m able to access the Discussion Forum Module via the Admin, add forums, categories, set forum permissions, etc., just unable to view the forum.

Forum URL:
www.mywebsite.com/index.php/forums/

Trigger Word:
forums

It is being referenced by:
<li><a href="{path=forums}">Forum</a></li>

Yet it directs the browser to the home page upon clicking the associated Forum link.

Any thoughts would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks!

I’m leaning toward the redirect as well.  Do other non-forum interior pages come up ok?  Could be a matter of query strings being required.  Try sticking a ? after index.php- any difference?  And is it at all possible to link to the site in question, or is it private?

Thank you for your reply, Robin. All good advice - but I think my issue was more systemic due to me inadvertently running two installations of the forum module at the same time. I did a clean install of EE and the forum module and all seems to be working now as expected.

Hm- not sure how you managed to get two installs!  But yes, that sounds odd.  Note- you can effectively run multiple forums with just the one install- via ‘forum boards’.  So can have distinctive forums for each site.

But just to confirm- all is well now and I can close this one out?  Or want to leave it open for a bit in case something odd crops up?
