Hi,

Is it possible to ahve multiple weblog entries within the same weblog with the same url title?

I have a weblog called screenshots and I want to use the url_title to select which to use on which page (ie put “home” in url_title for several entries and have them all displayed on the homepage)

Is this possible? or is it necessary to create multiple different weblogs?

Hi there,

Whilst you can’t have the same URL title for multiple entries as they have to be unique otherwise you wouldn’t be able to use the dynamic nature of ExpressionEngine you can still do what you want to do without any problems

There are actually many different ways to go about doing this and it all depends on which you like the best really. You could set up a category group and name them with the different sections and then use weblog tags to pull out random entries but only from the certain category (page) or you could have a drop-down custom field which has the names of the pages / areas listed in it and then use the search:field_name=”“ parameter to just pull out random items depending upon what is stored in that field. I prefer this second way but it is really down to personal preference. Also there are many many other ways of doing what you need but these two I think are perhaps the easiest to grasp and understand.
