Okay, I’m stumped.  I’ve uploaded all the files necessary for the upgrade from 1.1 to 1.2b, and when I point my browser to update.php I get the page, with a friendly message stating:

Welcome!
You are currently running ExpressionEngine: Version 1.1
If you are ready to update your system, please click the link below

The problem is: there is no link. I viewed the source to see if perhaps it was hidden from view, but it simply is not there.  I’ve tried using Explorer and Firefox.  I deleted all of the files I had uploaded, and then re-sent them to my server, all with the same effect.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Nox

Um… yeah… I logged in to my control panel and it seems the update has occurred.

Feel free to pelt me with stale bread for my stupidity.

If you didn’t get to run the update.php file then you’re almost certainly going to run into problems since the update performs a number of database changes.

Are you sure that you uploaded all the new files in the system/updates/ directory?  If you don’t have the update file for 1.2 in there then you might not see the link when you run the update script.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. But I think I deleted the 1.2 zip file and I can’t seem to find it in my download area on pmachine.com.  Where might I get my hands on it?

Also, STRONGBAD RULES! That site just got me through an intense 3-week grad school residency. Up all night writing essays? Take a Teen Girl Squad break. Sooooooooooooo good!

If you’re part of the 1.2 beta then you should have received an email with instructions on obtaining the file download.

Word. I did. It took a lot of swearing and inventive searching to make Gmail cough it back up. So much for the power of Google in my email.

Thanks.

Nope. I get an “invalid request” message when I click the link in the email. I’m trying to use file recovery software to retrieve the original zip file.

Okay, I kept trying and it work. I will now go away and leave you to help with problems that don’t stem from rampant user stupidity.

Thanks.
