I am installing on MT Grid Service and I’m having a lot of problems. I have…

MySQL server address:
internal-db.sxxxxx.gridserver.com

the correct username, password and database name - but the installation keeps erroring saying with ‘cannot select database’

I’ve checked the names and paths and I can’t see what’s wrong.

Can anyone help?

I know it will work on the Grid server- let’s try a simplier test.  Grab the server wizard- try to connect with that.  We can tweak the debug results we get from it, see if we can pinpoint the problem.  And while you do that, I’ll do a quick search of the forum, see if I can spot any hints of quirks.

Not to jump in on Robin, but taktak, have you made sure to assign read/write privileges to the MySQL user of your Expression Engine database that you created?

I have a MTgs account, and other than forgetting to do that, I haven’t had problems with it.
