Uploading image file error

I’m working with a newly installed copy of EE and have tried to upload an image file into a new posting but have been thwarted. I get this message:

A problem was encountered while attempting to upload your file

And no other clues. I asked our tech wizard if the permissions were correct on the upload directory, but he didn’t seem to get anywhere with that idea. Any suggestions? Thanks.

So you’ve confirmed that the upload directory has permissions of 777?

That error will only appear in two circumstances, both of which are around lines 180-190 in [color=red]system/core/core.upload.php[/color:

1. EE is unable to copy the uploaded file (with the “copy()” PHP function)

2. EE is unable to move the uploaded file (with the “move_uploaded_file()” PHP function)

Your server is choking on one of those two things.

I also have the same problem,
how can I fix this ?
I would like to upload files but I don’t get an error message.
