Hi all, using the superb lightwindow for a basic image gallery but think I’m missing something here as I’ve got it working fine in Safari and FF but its not working at all in IE6 or 7. I fear I’m making a simple mistake as it appears the js isn’t even being picked up.

Here is the link

Also I’m getting an error in IE that says…

Line: 444
Char
: 4
Error
: Object doesn’t support this property or method
Code
: 0
URL
: http://weirbar.pmhclients.com/gallery/index-lightwindow

Can anyone see what I’m doing wrong?

Thanks

I’m by no means a javascript guy, but one suggestion I would have is to try to change the order you’re calling the javascript in the <head> of your page. Sometimes one file has to be first in the order for it to work. Maybe try to put the lightbox.js first? May not work, but I’ve see that problem before.

On another note, might want to check this out: http://jquery.com/demo/thickbox/

It uses jQuery instead of the prototype library (which I’ve had trouble with in the past getting stuff like this to work). Thickbox in my opinion is much faster than lightbox too.

Tried changing the order already actually but it didn’t work : (

I’m going to resort to another solution soon but I need to know why this isn’t working to save my sanity!

Thanks for the suggestion tho deronsizemore

In looking at your source code, I see that you load the .js files in a different way then recommended.

Maybe you should try it that order.

1.)prototype.js
2.)scriptaculous.js?load=effects
3.)lightwindow.js

You are missing the scriptaculous file

this is essential to have. I have it running on my site without any issues, except that Lightwindows does not validate, which bothers me quite a bit.

Hope this helps. Let me know.
