I’m working on the layout for my re-design in photoshop. I’ve got a post-it overlapping the main content and know that I can set this up easily as a slice. However it’s my main navigation buttons that I’m concerned about as 3 of the buttons will have overlap of different dimensions and the other buttons none. Can this be coded in CSS/XHTML after slicing to work with ul tags?

I need to know before proceeding with the rest of the design.

Given what you’re showing in the attached image this should be pretty straight forward.

My suggestion would be to save the “post-it” image as a png with a transparent bg and then absolutely position it within your sites main content container (which is relatively positioned).

By absolutely positioning the image you remove it from the flow of content and place it above the rest of your content which will achieve the overlapping effect you’re after.
