Does anyone know if the VPL is on EE? I am making that assumption based on URLs that look like vpl.ca/cat/C412. Do any other CMSes have URLs like that?

I’m not sure if other apps use that, it certainly wouldn’t be that unusual, but yes, VPL appears to be running on ExpressionEngine.

Not in all cases, no.

Seriously though I have found that if you show a good interest in a persons site then they are usually quite open about a lot of things. Just have to handle it carefully and make sure that you don’t make it seem as though you are going to try and take over development of the site or anything.

Right, let them know why you are interested, if the sites been turned over to a client let’s say, maybe ask who the Web designer/developer was to get the straight up dope

A pretty reliable way of checking is to look at the cookies that are set. This tool is fast and generally accurate and it suggests that it is indeed using EE.

Jeez. Completely over-looked that one!! Just went into Safari and filtered down the list to just get vpl and there it is!! ExpressionEngine indeed!

So something like this View Cookie Firefox Extension would of done the trick. Sw-ee-ee-t

Can’t you just go to :

Firefox->Preferences->Privacy->Show Cookies

You should then be able to filter down to find what you are looking for? I know this works on the OSX version of Firefox, not sure if you are on Windows though? Perhaps it is different but I would have expected something like that to be in the program on both platforms. Just thought I would mention it so that if it does exist you don’t have to go installing loads of extensions just to see this sort of thing.
