Not sure I’m interested in any other SXSW events.  Do we need to register for SXSW if we want to attend the preview for EE 2.0?

I believe I looked at the answer to my question many times before I realized it.  Here is what it says on the Ellis Lab SXSW page:

EllisLab will host a series of events at SXSW 08 Interactive (held in Austin, Texas USA) and we’d love to see you there. Unless the event description says otherwise you will need a SXSW 08 Interactive Badge. There are no additional fees to attend EllisLab SXSW events.

Yes, the convention hall people with black clothes, sunglasses, and ear pieces, will not let you in without a SXSW pass, sadly.

Thanks Derek.  Yeah, I’m just interested in the one day Ellis Lab event, so it would cost $450 just to attend for a couple hours.

Stephen, I don’t know the full details, but this might save you some money.

Edit: Hrm, looking at it more closely, I think it may just be for the trade show.  Ah peas.

Derek, do you know if a pass to the trade show is different than a SXSW badge?  ...and this one day trade show pass won’t do for the EE event?

Yep, the trade show is just a large room inside the convention center at the top o’ the escalator.  The event rooms are all accessed through roped areas where attendants check for badges as people pass.
