Forgive me if this has been addressed before or has an obvious answer: Given that all content of websites & blogs created with ExpressionEngine is dynamic (rather than relying on static html pages), are those pages/urls of my website being indexed by search engines like Google?

I know years ago the search engines didn’t or couldn’t index dynamic pages like the ones created in this way. Has that changed?

Yes, they are all fully indexed and use search-friendly URLs.

The problem you are specifically querying is search engines failing to index page URLs that includes queries (ie had a ? in them).  This is no longer a major problem (to an extent) but EE doesn’t produce URLs with ? in them anyway, so wouldn’t be for us regardless. =)

Hope that helps to clarify!

Be ready for a lot of emails if you use the code Sue linked to.  I only have it on my index page (which is what’s recommended in the tutorial), but I still get quite a lot of emails every day practically.

I haven’t really started using it but RobotStats has a good reputation and is used by professionals.
