Does anyone know how to list recent entries
by each categories on indexpage (like below) ?

If it were possible to use tags as parameters it would be fairly easy to do this, but as it stands you’ll probably need to resort to some PHP in your template to pull this off.

Just thought I’d mention that the next update may provide a work around for this. That is, if the change Paul was able to introduce on my behalf receives final approval. More details if it happens.

I also put in a feature request for something similar due to the way I’m displaying my linklist.
