We’re pleased to announce that Lisa has accepted full-time employment with EllisLab as our Customer Support Specialist. Lisa’s focus will be where technical support, pre-sales, and community resources intersect. A little over three years ago, Lisa joined our community and made an immediate impact with her helpful responses to people. She started and maintained the ExpressionEngine Wiki on a volunteer basis, and then donated it to EllisLab. In short, if you’ve ever been to our forums, explored the Knowledge Base, or browsed the Wiki chances are Lisa has helped you. We’re proud to bring her talents, passion, and commitment to the community to our team full-time.
Fun tip: Lisa has more Community forum posts than Rick, Paul, Jones, and Leslie combined. Slackers.
I can not begin to explain how excited I am to have the opportunity to join the EllisLab team on a full-time basis. The team and community were absolutely amazing when I joined here in 2004 and I jumped in, happy to help where I could. I never guessed what that would lead to.
And here I am. EllisLab, the team and community, is headed for some exciting times and I’m immensely proud to be a part of it.
Don’t let her job title fool you. We refer to her internally as “Viceroy Wess”. Though I suppose “Vicereine Wess” is technically more accurate but less fun to say.
Are you going to be staying here in the valley? Sometime I want to buy you a pizza if you are up for it! (Luna, of course).
Speaking of EE, being a business-minded type I can’t help but think how large the opportunities are for this great software! It was running though my head the other day that even in a relatively unpopulated area like ours, that the market would be incredible if folks really knew what it could do. I suppose that is always the age-old dilemma (marketing), but hopefully folks like Lisa will help spread the word!
Wow, what a post count! Next stop 20K. Sooner of later, someone will hit 100K.
As to what I’m doing now - well, my lease in this apartment is up in August. I’m deciding where to go - whether it be in the valley or perhaps somewhere closer to Oregon so I can bug the rest of the team in person. =) Right now I’m just exploring the possibilities - but more space is high on the list!
Craig - I’d be more than happy to have a little EE get-together around here. I’m not sure if there are any other EE folks in the area, but hey. In fact, I’m beginning to work occasionally over at the Haymarket. Who knows, if you ever drop in and see some whacky girl furiously typing on her Powerbook - that could be me. =)
I know Lisa has helped me, either actively or passively, and has even helped me help others,
I must say that EllisLab is one of the smartest companies out there right now. You all have a knack for drawing the right people for the job, and this makes 2 in a row that have just logically fallen into place (Lisa, Sue). You folks just ebb synergy. The one thing I love the most is how the Crew transcends titles. Support Staff, VPs, CEO, whatever, it doesn’t matter, you are all in this together, with us, to get the job done. That alone is worth 10x what you charge.
