A sort of silly extension, but for my project with 2000+ entries this seemed to work the best. Enabling this adds a “Livesearch” field to the top of the admin pages. Typing in there will select entries and comments containing the inputted text. Give it a whirl and let me know how it works.
1) This is marvellous, thank you.
2) The settings tab seems to want to work, but there is no lang file in the zip - so clicking it brings up a missing language file error
3) Searching for “Other’s” doesn’t work - though I have a post with that as part of the title, that it does find if I use a different keyword. Apostrophe issue?
4) Gettng Notice: Undefined index: S in .. /ext.livesearch.php on line 101
Sorry for disturbing, but I’ve downloaded your extension and installed it into my EE1.5.1. And there’s no Livesearch field anywhere as well as any setting link :(
(I’ve attached a screenshot). And Documentation links leads to http://www.hcphilly.com which is a blank page :(
1. There should not be settings. I accidently left them on in the first release, then turned them off in a later version.
2. This may be because your not using English. I believe I hardcoded in an English word to look for, and when it’s not there it doesn’t show up. I will check this out and post back later today.
Mark Huot, switching to English really helps, thank you! But my users would like to keep Russian as a system language - is it possible to get Livesearch form without switching back to English?
It does not work with either russian or english words.
I enter, for example, American (there.s an entry with a title starting with “American Express’) and just nothing happens.
1. Nothing is entered into the Livesearch form
2. There’s an entry with a title starting with Morgan Stanley. See this blue line? Looks like something is trying to happen but to no avail.
3. There’s an entry with a title including (but not startin with) American Express. No blue line.
Alright version 1.0.5 should fix a few of these bugs. Please let me know what still remains. Also do you have Auto Convert High ASCII turned “On” or “Off”? You can find it here: CP Home › Admin › Weblog Administration › Global Weblog Preferences
