I really hope I’m not stepping on your toes here, Dom.S.  It just happens that we’re both releasing templates around the same time.

A little back story, if you don’t mind…

Ocean Mist is a theme for WordPress created by Ed Merritt. A friend of mine discovered this theme while looking for something to use on her site and shared the link with me.

Once I saw the theme in action, I immediately fell in love and figured that us ExpressionEngine users might like to make use of it. Ed graciously granted me permission to port the theme, and so here it is.

The download will be up tomorrow evening (I’m sorry, but I’m just too tired at the moment to finish packaging it up and creating the info needed for the download pages), but in the meantime you can preview it here: Ocean Mist Template Preview.  There are going to be two versions offered: one that includes trackbacks integrated with comments, and one without trackbacks at all.  I decided to go this route because many of us have disabled trackbacks due to spam, and the extra code just isn’t necessary.  Of course, I couldn’t ignore those who still use trackbacks… so we’ll all have a special version to use.

Feedback is appreciated, and I’ll be setting up a simple support forum at my site for this theme… but, as I mentioned, this will all be happening tomorrow evening.  Until then, take care!

I’m sorry for the delay, everyone.  The template is ready for download at the demo site.  I’m still working on getting a few stickies written for the support forums, but they’re up as well.  The main post has been edited to reflect the changes and provide URL’s.

Thanks, Dom… but I really can’t take any credit.  All I did was port it over exactly as it would appear on a Wordpress site. 

I’m sorry for bumping this thread, but there’s a bugfix for this template.  While double checking all of the template files, I came across an invalid call to the search image.  The downloads have been updated to reflect the changes, so anyone downloading the template as of this post will not be effected.  However, anyone who downloaded the files already, please see Ocean Mist 1.0.1 Bug Fix on how to fix that little issue.  This applies to both versions of the template.
