I relaunched a site for a long-term client today, using Expression Engine 1.4. The client is a regional office for a Christian denomination, covering one-and-a-half states. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes like custom content targeted at various constituencies, private discussion forums for ministers, etc.

Here’s the site:

Assemblies of God, Northern California and Nevada District

I’ve used EE for a few other sites, but this is the first time I feel like I’ve been stretched in the development, largely because I don’t always have a firm grasp on EE’s capabilities and tagging requirements. But I think it came out okay.

Any comments and feedback are of course welcome.

Hmmmm .... I just got a 404 too, but when I tried about 2 seconds later, it came up. I had a report from another user of a 404 as well (although I haven’t see one all day until now). We switched the DNS about 11:00 p.m. last night. Maybe that has something to do with it, although I would suspect if the DNS change had not propagated, that you would just see the old site.

I’ll check with pmachinehosting to see what they say.

Thanks,
Frank

Aaargh. The client asked their ISP to change the DNS records for their email server, but the ISP evidently changed the records for the web server. So that explains the 404 error. I’ve sent an email this evening, but I assume the client is out of the office for the 3-day weekend, so I’ll post again when the site is back up.

The client fixed the DNS issues and people are now saying that they can see the site (I can see it too, but it’s only been perhaps 24 hours since the DNS problem was fixed, so I suppose it may not be available to everyone).

At least one person who can see it is reporting slow load times. Can you take a look again and if it loads slowly for you, let me know?

Thanks,
Frank
