Posima is a web app for small businesses who don’t have the know-how or the time to create a site or can’t afford the up-front costs.  You build the site from a template, choose your color combos and add content.  The site was designed by Steve P Sharpe.  The web application is wrapped within ee to allow easy site wide content and user management.  To play with the tools check out the demo with the following login details:

username: demo
password: demouser

Check out the program and the blog and let me know what you think,

Chad

You mean the web app you offer to clients/subscribers/members is built around EE?

Or just your main site is built around EE?

If it’s the former, it would be a violation of the license. wink

EE and the app are separate.  Whenever someone registers, it plugs their info into the exp_members table.  When they log in, I use cookies to log them into ee and the app at the same time.  While logged in they can access the app, their account info and the forums.  This allows the user to have a seamless experience.  I also use ee to manage all the content in the site.

I apologize for the misunderstanding,

Chad

2 small screenshots in FireFox 1.5

Not a very seamless design. My 2c.

The design looks very pretty and sleek but the copy is off-putting. Surely a potential user cares about why this is better than Blogger, not that you know how many people are using the internet today.

So help me understand here Chad. Are you using a single installation of EE to provide websites for clients? Or are you planning on purchasing a unique EE license for each client as part of your solution?

The users don’t use ee to make websites, they use my proprietary software that was made from scratch.  I use ee to manage my clients and content throughout the site.  That’s it.

Please no more suddle accusations that I’m ripping pmachine off.  I wouldn’t be linking here if that were the case.

If you still don’t understand how this works, please try out the demo and it should explain everything.

log in at www.posima.com with the following:

Thanks for the suggestion.  You may very well be correct, I hadn’t thought of it that way.  I was going to make a blog entry about why I’m better than blogger or squarespace, but integrating it to the main page may be a better idea.  I think I’ll add it to the page and over time decide what needs to stay and what needs trimming.

Thanks again for the suggestion,

Chad

Edit

Hey all, Chad is working with us on this. He’s on the level and a nice guy, so please nobody PM, email, him etc… about license stuff. We think this is a pretty innovative use of EE and are working out any gray area license stuff with him directly. Thanks.

The latest CMS Posima web app runns with a php + mysql backend CMS.

The site was entirely programmed using php and mysql by Arup Bhanja.  The web application is actually rendered using a set of template and css elements picked up from a mysql database and no fancy tags are used.  The fun part is that the user can click and change the css elements using the various parameters allowed like fonts, colors, width, margin, etc.. all using 1 click.

To play with the tools check out the demo [limited version as it does not have save features] with the following login details:

username: demo
password: demouser

Check out the program and the blog and let me know what you think,

I think this a very cool use of EE. I didn’t have time to explore the app properly but it looks good. A bit slow for me maybe.

I have to ask though. You obviously have some coding chops, so why not build your own member system? Why rely on EE (as great as it is)?

It should be firefox friendly, can you send me any screenshots of what you mean(chad@posima.com)?  The reason we went with EE was actually from the recommendation of Steve P Sharpe.  I used pmachine a lot back it the day and was familiar with the program.  Arup does have great coding chops but I’m flipping the bill.  So the time/cost of pmachine is a better choice.  Not to mention, Rick and his great team of coders will be constantly working to make my member section better while Arup, Steve and I can work on bettering features of the program more specific to what we’re trying to accomplish.

Please let me know if there are any bugs ya’ll run into while playing with the program.
